Yeah, Shawn! He did it!
Not that we ever doubted him :-)
He completed his first year of Optometry school - what an achievement!
This year actually went surprisingly fast. We're so happy... only 3 years to go. We've watched him study harder than he ever has before. Test after test after test! This is some seriously tough stuff he's doing. With 3 rowdy kids running around and a very needy wife (only I can say that)... I don't know how he did it. When I think about how well he did with all the demands on him, I'm actually intimidated.
The boys and I really wanted to surprise Shawn with something special because of all he's done this last year. So we made a banner to welcome him when he walked through the door. The boys decorated the house with balloons (we got a 144 piece bag) and confetti. Right before he was due home we picked up some Thai food (Shawn's favorite!) The boys knew exactly what we were celebrating and when Shawn came home they both told him "good job, Daddy" and "you did good work."

Shawn you are amazing...Kristina you are also amazing. School is tough. Hopefully these next couple of years will fly by just as fast. I know that it has for me.
p.s. I wish that we were able to come to Aaron's wedding. It would have been fun to see everyone, but we are moving the next week, so bad timing on Aaron's part.
