My most embarrassing moment

I've only shared my most embarrassing moment with one person…. Shawn. It happened in junior high and I only got up the nerve to tell him just a few months ago. That's just how EMARASSING it is! I'm embarrassed now, just thinking about it. I would say, besides that, I haven't been embarrassed…. Until last night!

Jefferson had a school Christmas performance that we've all been looking forward to attending! He's been learning songs and talking about the show for days. So, yesterday Shawn comes home (I didn't see him in the morning) And I'm greeted with him looking like this…. A complete psycho!
With the encouragement of his friends, he decided to shave off his facial hair, but leave a MUSTACHE?!?! He looks SLIMY! No offense to anyone who has, or who likes mustaches, but I'm not a fan…. At least not on my husband.

This picture doesn't even do it justice. Trust me, its worse in person, 500 times worse. I could hardly make eye contact with him, it was too weird. So, it's 15 minutes before Jefferson's presentation and I'm BEGGING Shawn to shave it off. Please! He wouldn't do it. I've already met the teacher, the principal, the other parents…. Shawn hasn't. This is going to be the first time he meets them…. The first time he meets the parents of Jefferson's friends…. And he doesn't care about the first impression he's making on them…. That he's a complete weirdo! Maybe I overreacted. Maybe not. Remember, I had only known about it for a few minutes before leaving. But I was so embarrassed!! We parked the car and I walked in a different door with the kids. I sat next to Shawn and pretended I didn't know him. And I avoided all eye contact with other moms who might come and talk to me and see my strange husband!

On the positive side… Jefferson's performance was ADORABLE! The school acted out "A Christmas Carol." Reagan snatched my camera with a kung fu grip and wasn't letting go without a huge tantrum, so with her help, I took these blurry pictures of his class singing Christmas songs. Shawn got some great video, so we have the memories. There is just so much joy in watching your child on the stage doing something… anything. He could be just standing there and it would have been a great performance. But he didn't just stand there, she shouted loud and had a huge smile. We clapped like crazy. Oh, I love that boy! Can I just freeze him?… don't grow and inch more, stay in kindergarten forever, and be my sweet boy who wants to "go straight home and cuddle on my bed"

it's a man thing. My husband has done that too. It's gross.

I do have to agree with you that staches should not be worn...at all...ever...even for a "funny" finals week boorah. Or maybe he's being serious about it... :) I do have to say that his haircut looks nice (I haven't seen it since your post on picking the wrong color purple). As for your most embarassig moment, I am soooo curious! Given the fact that you just recently go up the nerve to tell your own hubby, I am forced to live with the fact that I'll never know what it is. Darn! Embarassing stories are always the best!

Can't wait to see the video. I'm already delighted, just by the photos.
