Our Christmas

We swore we would never drive to California again, but on the 21st I found myself cramped in the car heading south. We survived, thanks to lots of books and the DVD player.

Oh, it was worth it, though. We all had our requirements. For me, I HAD to eat at LaBou and Heyday. The kids had to play with their cousins. And all Shawn wanted was to not think about school. We all got what we wanted, except, Jefferson was disappointed he couldn't play with his cousins EVERY DAY.

Christmas Eve was spent at the Skinners. We ate, visited, and then the kids performed the Nativity Scene. Jefferson wanted to be "the donkey" and Grant wanted to be "the wise man who built his house on the rock."
I had to tell him the wise man in the song was not the same one who visited Jesus. He insisted it was…

Grant instantly became best friends with his uncle Matt after he taught him how to play a computer game… and then asked to play it everyday. Poor Matt couldn't get a moment alone without Grant bugging him.

And where was Shawn during the festivities?...

Christmas morning we spent at my mom's house. Boy, are we lucky to have our parents just minutes away from each other. The kids were all excited to see what Santa brought. Then we spent the rest of the morning sitting in our pajamas and opening gifts… it was the greatest.

Here are my wild animals with their new tails on.

Uncle Ian showing Jefferson the game he got him.

We had Christmas Dinner at my Aunt Bobbie's. It was great to see family and spend time together. Our prayers are with my Aunt Pat who was hospitalized Christmas Day, it just wasn't the same without her.

Later in the week, the cousins all got together and decorated cookies.

Oh, we had fun. We were busy, but it was great. It just meant a lot to see family. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas.

It looks like you guys had fun! I remember acting out the Christmas story at the Skinners every year. I love that Grant wanted to be the wiseman who build his house upon a rock...so funny!
