Grandparents and parks

I haven't posted in 2 weeks. Where have I been?

Well, sick for one thing! I have strep throat. I think that's why I only took 2 pictures of our visit with Shawn's parents.

Well, I'll enlarge this one so it will make up for my lack of taking any more….

Monty and Peggy came to visit us last Wednesday and stayed 'til Sunday. We LOVED having them spend time with us. Shawn's family is really big (which is an awesome thing)….. but one on one quality time with your parents and grandparents is a treat. And we soaked them in. We played games, read books, went to the library, walked around Shawn's campus, went to the Farmer's market, celebrated birthdays, went to the beach, watched Shrek at McMennamins, took walks…. And just spent time together visiting. The kids had fun.

Here's a picture of Reagan and her grandpa listening to music together.

Thanks for driving all the way up here to spoil us!

After their visit, Peggy got strep throat…. Along with me…. And Shawn. Needless to say, we haven't done too much around here.

But, we did drag ourselves out of the house to take our stir-crazy kids out for some fun.

We went to Blue Lake. It's an awesome park, trust me…. Just trust me and go (but bring insect repellant)!

I didn't even take pictures of the best parts. There's a lake (hence the name Blue Lake). There's a swim area. Disclaimer: you have to be 5 yrs. old to swim in it though (I don't know why). Grant was 5 on the day we went! The boys had a blast swimming. There's also a fun water park area that Reagan and the boys ran around for a while. We played on the playground (this is when I finally got the bright idea to take some pictures).

Me pushing Reagan in the swings. She could swing all day if I let her, but to be honest, I think it's boring to push swings. So, I force her to get down… then I spend the rest of the time scared she's going to break her neck as she climbs every ladder and pole…. Which is worse? Bored or Nervous?

A good 'ol slide competition!

Then the boys (all 3 of them) went to a field to try out a remote control kite Shawn was given.

After many many attempts, and a couple bee stings, it was unsuccessful.

Reagan loved the open field, she ran free. Thanks Hattie for the cute boots!

Shawn's home all of August, so I'm sure they'll be more excitement to come.

As soon as we feel better around here!

Wow, that looks like an awesome park! That's too bad that you guys got strep...no fun at all! I hope you feel better soon. Hey...so you told me that Ethan looked old in that wagon picture....well, Reagan looks so old too! I can't believe how fast they grow...especially when you only see them once a year IN PERSON!
