Last week I got to go with Grant's preschool on a field trip to the pumpkin patch.
My girlfriend offered to watch Reagan so I could go alone.
I'm wracking my brain to try to think of anytime I've done something alone with Grant.... besides go to the grocery store.
I can't think of a single time.... shameful, I know.
We had a ton of fun.
We went to Lake View Farms.... it's our favorite!
Here's Grant and the other preschoolers learning how farmers make bread from wheat.
Next, we hopped on the train and headed to the pumpkin patch.
He was very, very excited to be on the train!
Picking out a pumpkin. He got a great one!
Heading back on the boat. There are pirates, a dragon, and a shark that come up out of the water as the boat passes.... very exciting!
I learned something about Grant that day... he is not very social. Okay, I already knew that. But I guess it still surprised me. There were several of his friends there but he refused to talk to or play with any of them. He kept saying, "I just want to stay with you." But I just kept pointing them out and suggesting he go near them. I just cannot fathom how someone wouldn't want to play with friends. I really need to work on recognizing Grant's individual feelings, instead of being a pushy mom!
Here he is (unwillingly) with Dawson and Cade, friends from church.
Him and I had a great time together. He ate up every second of being with just me. And I realized we need more alone time. He kept stating the obvious the whole morning, "Reagan didn't come, just me and you."
How cute, I love this little boy!

Grantee, you picked the "perfect" pumpkin. It looks like it was a very special day for you and mommy.
I'm so glad you got to have that time with just Grant. I love the pic of the two of you together!
