Reagan sliced the hair off the right side of her head!
We were hanging spiderwebs on our staircase (for Halloween). I'm just a few stairs away and I hear Grant say, "let me cut your hair." I look down to watch him snip off an adorable curly lock from the back of her head.
I screamed and scolded him! He put down the scissors and that was that. I made the fatal mistake of leaving the scissors on the ground again (I really didn't think anything would happen)...
Reagan picked them up and cut her own hair.
I freaked out....
Yelled a few profane words (yes, I was that shocked and horrified)....
Then just about cried!
There was hair everywhere....

Is it possible to grieve the loss of something so inanimate?
I think so.... especially when it's taken more than 2 years to grow her hair this long!
I wasn't planning on cutting her hair.... EVER... or at least for a few more years.
Now what do I do?
It's tragic!

Oh no! That's so sad!! Maybe try a pixie with her?? I bet it would be cute! Oh man...
Just so you know, I think you've been doing a great job of disguising the chopped portion...I forget that she's missing a bit of hair on that side most of the time!
Save the hair and put it in her baby book, I have an entire pigtail my brother cut off in mine! :)
Oh no Kristina!! What a sad story! It will be a funny story to tell later on though :)
