I had a birthday. 7 days ago. Then I got a cold and forgot to post about it. Or maybe I was just hoping it never happened and I’m still 28. But alas, I’m 29 now. This is my last year in the 20’s which seems weird to me. I honestly feel like I just graduated high school (and sometimes act like it too). But then I have to pick up my 2nd grader at school and wrestle him to do his homework and I remember that I am getting older. Oh well, it happens. Although it was sad when Reagan asked me how old I was turning and when I told her she asked me if I was going to die soon.
I had a fabulous birthday! Shawn locked me in my bedroom at 7pm, (which sounds odd, but is really my dream come true), and took care of the kids. He slept with all 3 of them downstairs that night so I could have one night of uninterrupted sleep. Then, in the morning, he took everyone to school. Yes, this was the best birthday gift in the world! But it didn’t stop there.
During lunch, we went out to eat (courtesy of my mother in law) at a local place. It was delicious!
Then, for dinner we all went to Red Lobster, (courtesy of several people who love me). Shocker I know. I go there every year. But this is the first year we’ve ALL gone out for my birthday. It was fun to share the day with the kids instead of getting a babysitter. We had our fill of seafood. Actually, I think I’ve had my permanent fill of seafood at Red Lobster. Yes, you thought I would never say it… but I’m actually done with the place. After all these years! I’m ready for something new.
We came home and I was surprised with an ice cream cake from Cold Stone. Now I’m REALLY going to shock you when I say…. I think I’m done with Cold Stone. Weird but true.
Here’s my cake, loaded with candles! They hardly fit.
And this is the best shot of me on my birthday….
Kidding. I just wanted to show you the worst so you might think that this one is actually good…..
Photography is not one of Shawn’s strongest points, (although he captured the dark circles under my eyes really well). But he is dang good at spoiling me on my birthday, which I prefer over a picture of me any day!
Thank you for all of the cards, gifts, phone calls, and extra love from everyone. I sure felt special. Yeah for birthdays and yeah for having 1 more year in my 20’s.

What a great post! Happy Birthday! Funny you're done with both Red Lobster and Cold Stone. Guess you'll have something new and fun to look forward to next year. Enjoy your last year of 20s. I only have a couple more month :(.
Happy Birthday!! (belated)
Glad it was so great!!! After reading this, I think I'd love to get locked in my room.
I am glad you are not dying at the ripe old age of twenty nine either. Wow a night uninterrupted, that is a gift! Good hubby you have.
your seriously done with Red Lobster and Cold Stone?!? I don't believe it... So glad you had a good one. It sounds like Shawn took good care of you! Yay for being 29!
You will have to stomach red lobster one more time if we all go out to eat when we all are together again lol. I am glad you had a good birthday. I can imagine getting uninterrupted sleep was the best present you could have because I dont know how I am going to deal with that someday. I guess next year ian and I will have to get creative haha love you
I'm so glad you had a nice birthday...sometimes as mothers they don't seem special. Yours seemed to be, and I'm so glad.
I hope this year is the best one yet.
Happy 29th Birthday Kristina!!! I wish we lived closer like we used to so I could watch you enjoy birthday cake. Paulette
