I just wanted to share some pictures from our trip to the NC Zoo. It was a beautiful day and there was hardly anyone there, weird. It took us a while to travel out to the Zoo though, I think we were still grieving our Portland Zoo in our backyard. But I’m glad we finally did it.
I don’t have too much else to say. It was a typical Zoo trip. Nothing extraordinary happened. Wait, yes, what was extraordinary was that there were no tantrums or fighting. And maybe that’s why I’m at a loss for words. I was left speechless.

I don’t know why, but this picture makes me laugh. It’s almost as if I can’t believe that’s really my family. I think it’s Grant and Shawn… they’re killing me.

This mommy Gorilla and her baby were adorable. I think we stood here watching them love on each other for about 30 minutes
