Potter Fever

My boys have caught Harry Potter fever! Shawn started reading the series to them a couple years ago, but they were getting nightmares, so he quit. Just recently, they decided to read the books themselves. Jefferson is on book 6 and Grant is on book 4…. so, basically they are experts now on anything and everything to do with wizardry.
I never read the series myself. But I can tell just by watching my boys that Harry Potter is no match for their skills!

They spent a good portion of the afternoon yesterday practicing their skills. They were hollering gibberish words at each other and almost dislocating their shoulders with all the wand pointing.
I’m sure the neighbors were confused. Of course, to the untrained eye this looks ridiculous. But to someone schooled at Hogwarts (which my boys consider themselves), this is battling.

Jefferson, in a prepared battle-stance.

Grant, retaliating with some sort of spell (aka gibberish)
HP 04

Let the battle begin…
HP 06

I was puzzled, so I asked them if they would teach me exactly what they were doing…..

And this, my friends, is how most every battle ended. Highly entertaining!

Well, they had me laughing, although I don’t know what they’re saying, or what they’re doing.
They keep suggesting that I read the books myself.
Nah!
Why read them when I clearly have 2 experts who can teach me everything I need to learn?

Kristina! You must read them. They are fantastic. And then we can be friends again. J/K. But not.

You are such a good mom, I would have been yelling at them to get those sticks away from each others eyes! Good poses though. And you should read them!
