Sharing something with you.

Grant loves to sing! He has always loved to sing. Grant also gets VERY upset when you don't read his mind. He doesn't know the names of songs. Of course, I don't have the ability to read minds and there have been many tantrums when I can't guess what song he wants to sing. So, I figured out what to do... I made a song chart. I chose 24 of the most common songs we sang as a family and drew pictures for each one, then laminated it. He would walk around the house, come up to us and point to a picture he wanted to sing. It worked, no more crying. For his birthday this last month I made him another one, with church songs. You wouldn't believe me, but he really is attached to these charts. He even brings them to church with him to sing songs. I thought I would share it with you so you could make one if you want, no pressure!
One side Other side

Some of the pictures I drew from primary clip art, so they may look familiar. They are pretty interchangeable, but I will share with you what songs I have used and their page number in the songbook. From the top and left to right:

What a great idea. Cadance also loves to sing church songs so maybe I will make one for her:) And wow...I didn't know you were such an artist!

Hey, I'm so glad you found my blog and I've loved reading yours! I agree, visiting on valentines was fun and we need to do it again. Dev talks about Shawn all the time and how funny he is. Devin says he missed him today at school and "missed exchanging witty banter" :) At least they have a little fun at school, I guess.

That is brilliant! I love your craftiness Kristina. Such a cute idea. I might just have to use it.
