My Sunshine had a birthday this last week. This little boy smiled the day he was born!
He was the happiest baby I had ever seen.... the easiest baby I have had.
He is the light of our family. Dull moments turn into hysterical when he's around. There has never been a day when he hasn't amazed me with his wit or intelligence. He makes life sweeter, and more fun! I feel so lucky to have him.
His allergies put him through a lot, but he has dealt with them better than anyone else could. He's a little spit-fire that won't put up with anything he doesn't like.
He's quite the character too!
He refuses to wear anything more than a t-shirt, even in the rain (he says anything more is "too heavy"). He wears his underwear backwards so he can see the design. And he wears his Lightning McQueen shoes EVERYDAY...without socks or course!
He claims he "can't breathe" in a closed room. He either has to have the doors open, or the windows. One day I was wondering why it was SO cold in the house, when I discovered he had opened EVERY window, so he could breath.
He is a night owl and despite trying every trick, he refuses to go to sleep, sometimes until 11 or 12pm.
He won't watch any movies with "bad guys" in them. Toy Story.... bad neighbor boy. Little Mermaid.... bad octopus. Aladdin.... bad man. But he will watch Cars, everyday if he could.
He LOVES puzzles and is pretty darn good at them too (or he's just memorized the ones we have).
Grant just keeps us guessing. His favorite food yesterday makes him sick to eat today. His favorite game yesterday is the one he hates today.
Oh, we love this little quirky boy!
And now he is 4!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Opening presents
The next day he wanted to share his leftover cupcakes with his friends. Here are some of the neighbors (and my mom, who we were lucky to have visit). I think they all enjoyed (or at least tolerated) his gluten and egg free cupcakes, which made him happy.
I thought for sure Grant would want to go to Chucky Cheese, or The Children's Museum for his birthday. Instead all he wanted to do was go BOWLING. So, that's what we did.
Both boys had really interesting ways of bowling. Here's Jefferson aligning the ramp just right to hit the pins. (Notice the bug-catcher on his wrist. He got it as a gift and hasn't taken it off. He has LIVE bugs in it, and sleeps with it on. We'll see if I can convince him to take it off for church)
Reagan and my mom just hanging out on the couches. Yes, the bowling alley has couches, how awesome is that?!
Grant, waiting for his ball
HAPPY BIRTHDAY little man! We love you to death.

Great Post!! Grant, you never cease to amaze us with your witty nature and exceptional puzzle power.
Chloe does the same thing, sort of. She points to Ursula on the cover of The Little Mermaid DVD and says "Bad!" She does the same thing with the tiger on Jungle Book and Bowler Hat Guy on Meet the Robinsons. When we watch those movies and scary things come on, she says she doesn't want to watch them anymore, so I have to skip to the next chapter or something. Chloe thinks all characters who have angry eyebrows are bad. Kids are so funny!
