My Happy Birthday

Today is my BIRTHDAY! I won't leave you guessing..... I'm 27

Shawn and I went out last night to celebrate. We were going to go to the Portland Art Museum but ran out of time, so we went to Fabric Depot instead (just as, if not MORE fantastic… for me at least). Then we went to the Red Lobster, like we do every year on my birthday.

But the best birthday gift OF ALL came today. You are probably wondering what could possibly be so exciting when your birthday falls on a Sunday. I'll tell you...... It's when you get to church and by the time you finish singing the first hymn ALL THREE of your children have fallen asleep in the pew. ALL THREE OF THEM! I can't remember ever having all 3 of them asleep at once, let alone at church! By golly, I was the happiest women alive. Oh, I almost forgot to mention..... they slept for the whole 3 HOUR BLOCK of church. For those of you who don't understand why I was excited, I'll explain.... this meant that I was able to actually hear and listen to the speakers during sacrament meeting, I didn't have to fight and use bribery to get Grant to go to class, and I didn't have to hand over Reagan, screaming, to her Nursery class. I was able to sit in peace for 3 hours and not once question myself "why did I come to church today?" (like I usually do). Thank you kids for giving me the best gift a mom could ask for, and for looking stinkin' cute lined across the pew like little sausages!

When we got home, we celebrated with a Cold Stone ice cream, yum! We laughed together at the table and pretended we were animals eating the way animals eat..... ice cream will do that to you.
