Wicked fun!

My mom is really bored without me in California so she bought me a ticket to fly home this last weekend. What a sweetheart! I felt spoiled. And I felt a little bad because of the timing. Shawn started his spring break the day I left, so as he started his much-deserved relax time, I left him to babysit for 2 days. But it didn't take me too long to remember all the work I do and about the relax time I NEEDED. Wow… I must feel the need to justify this trip or something. Don't worry though, Shawn did go golfing for 6 hours yesterday… we'll call that even!

Anyways, I know you're dying to hear about my trip.

The night I flew in I went out to eat with this happy couple. What perfect timing…. My brother graduated and has 12 days at home before reporting to England. I got to say goodbye to him one last time.

That night I stopped by to say hi to Shawn's family. It was almost 10 pm and I stayed 'til midnight, but I just HAD to see my new niece who was born 3 months ago, she's ADORABLE! Of course I brought my camera, but never took a picture. I also got to meet my new sister-in-law and nephew too.

The next morning we got up bright and early to pick up my Aunt Bobbi and headed to San Francisco to see…..

It doesn't get much more fun than this!

The man taking our picture thought it would be genius for me to whisper into my mom's ear like the witches. No, thanks, we'll just do the standard hug-in-smile pose.

I know you all want me to talk about the show, but I can't do it. I need a thesaurus.... my vocabulary is not advanced enough. I won't even try to tell you how much I enjoyed it because AMAZING just doesn't cut it! BREATHTAKING... now that's closer to it, but not quite good enough a word. I had such a wonderful time. I could go see it again tonight! The theater, the performers, the orchestra, our seats…. All of it, wonderful.

Afterwards we picked up my dad who lives just 20 minutes away and we all went out to dinner together. There's no way I could come all the way to San Francisco and not stop to see him, and his new dog, Whitney. This trip keeps getting better!

After that long day, I woke up the next morning at 7am to go running with this sweet girl. I know, running doesn't sound like the most exciting thing to do with a friend you haven't seen in months. But you're probably not crazy like us… we had fun! I loved seeing Melissa and her DARLING kiddos. I miss them already. I was unsuccessful (again) in convincing her to move to Oregon.

Aren't we cute?

The rest of the day my mom and I went shopping, at thrift stores of course, and found some amazing deals. I love shopping with that lady! We went out to lunch, and shopped some more. I caught my plane home that night. It was just enough time to have a TON of fun, yet not miss my family too much. Thank you is not enough Mom. You treated me to a weekend I will NEVER FORGET! I don't think I could have had an ounce more of fun….

I am SO Jealous!!! I need/want a vacation away so bad. Your mom is AWESOME. She's always doing cool stuff like that. I didn't know your dad lives in San Fran. That's perfect for when you want to go to the beach or shop at the 5 story Old Navy. You look so happy in your pictures! I'm glad you had fun. You deserve it!

Kristina!! What a well-deserved break. Your mom is so amazing...I love her. I'm so glad you made time in your busy weekend to come see me!!! Even though all we did was run, it was so nice to talk and visit with you. Too bad you don't live here...we could go do that everyday!! By the way, I look REALLY bad in those pictures!

I'm so glad you had a great vacation! While I was in Utah, someone had a ring tone on their phone that was a song from Wicked and I thought about you when I heard it because I have been waiting to find out about your trip. Glad you loved the show!

I am so glad you had a chance to go out and see WICKED! It is such a fabulous show! You deserved it...and seriously, there probably isn't a b-day present better thangoing to a broadway show! And it looks like you had such a good time with your mom, dad, etc. (I am glad you're back here now...back to being my neighbor :)
