Spring Break

Yahoo!
As much as I dislike my husband being in school, there are parts of it that I do enjoy. Like Spring Break for instance. It was glorious to have him home for 10 days with absolutely nothing to do. And since he had 'nothing to do', I gave him chores. We cleaned out every nook and cranny of our home and brought a trunk full of stuff to Goodwill, it felt good to purge. Besides that, we filled our days with fun activities.
I'm going to share those activities with you. FYI, each of these things could be an individual post by themselves, but I'm cramming them all into one... this means this post is going to be looooooooooong!

oh, and on a side note, blogger just informed me that I have reached my max photo storage capacity and have to pay if I want to put anymore picture on my blog. Do I put too many picture on here? I have a feeling that after this post your answer will be, "YES".....

I took the boys to the Children's Theater to see "Go Dog Go". Which reminds me, since seeing "Annie", Jefferson has seen "Robin Hood", but since Shawn took him to the theater, and since Shawn doesn't particularly feel comfortable with my camera, there were NO pictures taken. But I heard it was a great show. Anyways, "Go Dog Go" was adorable. I think Reagan would have enjoyed it more than Jefferson. You've read the book, right? It's pretty scatterbrained, and full of nonsense... there's no real story line. Well, that was the play.... nonsense. But adorable nonsense.
Here are some of the cast signing playbills. The costumes were very colorful! Jefferson refused to get a signature from the Yellow dog. There always seems to be someone in the cast (usually a younger girl) who he decides he's too shy to confront, and won't say hi to. Silly boy!

Shawn took the boys to Malibu Raceway to race some go-carts. The boys spent the entire Summer earning money to race cars. They each earned $10, but we never found time to go. So, we found time this week!
The boys were too excited for words! Here's Grant all helmeted up and ready to ride!

The only sad part was that the boys are so small, they could hardly see over the seat. But they didn't seem to mind. Grant got 6 laps around the track.

Now it's Jefferson's turn. He got 7 laps. I LOVE this picture!

and, I just love his little hand in this picture, waving to me as he flies by.....

And where was Reagan during all this fun? Her and I sat inside. Let me tell you, she wasn't too fond of the idea.

We decided we needed a little get-away, so we drove up to Seattle. We spent an evening with our friends, Leia and Jason who live up there. It was so fun to visit with them. We were at Red Robin for 3 hours, and I think we could have stayed and talked another 3, but the kids were anxious to go swimming.

Our hotel had a pool, and let me tell you.... next time we go on vacation, we are just going to a hotel that has a pool. That's it folks. No attractions, no sightseeing, just a hotel! The kids ONLY wanted to swim... day and night! It was almost torture for them to do anything else.
These pictures are weird because the lighting was horrendous. They had these awful fluorescent lights that turned our skin purple.... lovely. But it didn't seem to effect anyone's swimming.

The weather in Seattle was beautiful. I don't think we had seen the sun so much in months! So, we enjoyed a day outside at the Woodland Park Zoo.
This zoo is wonderful.... if you're ever thinking of going, go! My kids love animals.... or maybe I've brainwashed them to love animals because we go to the zoo all the time, but either way, it's loved by all. I always feel like I'm learning something new, and I am. Like....
I had no idea that boas gave birth, did you? Does that make them mammals? Strange!

And Reagan found a new favorite. She is obsessed with birds, and her favorite color is pink. So, when I pointed out the Flamingos she fell instantly in love!

The next day we went to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. We loved it! The boys spent most of their time at the Star Wars exhibit while Reagan and I sat in the toddler play area. Shawn took the camera and captured some pictures...
Everything was an actual prop from the movies. I don't even remember this character on the left... but he looks freaky. To be honest, I don't know what half of the pictures are of that Shawn took, but the boys are fanatics, and they recognized it all.

We also went to a city park that is actually a farm. It was truly charming. Who's ever heard of a farm city park? We got to enjoy petting and learning about cows, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and more. Did you know that a baby rabbit is called a "kitten"? I had no idea. Anyway, if you're ever in the Seattle area, make a stop here!
Saying hi to "Joy" the pig....

Petting goats....

Then, before heading home, we took a detour to Snoqualamie Falls.
WOW!
It was breathtaking... and a little frightening. The power of the water had my knees shaking.

A little rain didn't stop the boys from having fun!

Are you still here? Wow, you got through all of this?

Well, that was our Spring Break. We tried not to waste a single day. Although one day was spent cleaning up throw-up for 24 hours... I would say the rest was fun.

Tomorrow we start the real world again, living real lives, with real responsibilities... like laundry, ugg!

So fun!! I'm glad spring break was a hit. I also love the spring break that comes along with devin being in school. I'll miss that portion of his schooling. Everything else that goes along with it not so much. And the star wars exhibit? Shawn told Devin about it and now Devin is already making plans to go see it...

Yes, I read the whole post, and that white monster dude is from the beginning of "Empire Strikes Back"...he snags Luke toward the beginning. I have to admit...I would LOVE to see all that stuff. Star Wars is AWESOME!

Your Spring Break looks like it was the BEST! No wonder I didn't see much of you or your family. (Neighbor?)
