Happy to report

They weather has officially turned to fall, boo! It’s so easy for me to focus on the negative with dark clouds hanging over my head all day. So, I am trying to think of everything positive. What has made me happy?

This week I am happy to report that:

Reagan no longer screams bloody murder or has to be pried out of my arms when I drop her off at preschool. She happily goes.

Our garage no longer smells like dog poo. We mopped the entire thing with 100% bleach and now it smells lovely… well, as lovely as a garage.

I resisted all urges to go to the thrift store on their last 50% off day (this is a big deal)

I woke up this morning without a single child in my bed (also a big deal)

After 12 months of complete laziness, I have started doing yoga again, and will start running soon

In 1 day I ate not one, but 2 entire bags of truffles…. with 1 serving containing 60% of my daily saturated fat (I ate 8 servings)

I finished reupholstering our glider. It was a baby blue and needed a face lift. Here’s the before and after

I found a radio channel on itunes that plays just lds music and a comedy channel too (I’m obsessed… mostly with the comedy channel)

Yesterday I bought 2 new beds from a friend. They’re for my boys room. They had beds, but they needed these! (‘need’ is up for interpretation in my house)

I made my first batch of beef jerky. It was to die for. (I want to eat this picture)

I have made a personal vow to make a dessert once a week. I hate making desserts, but was shamed when my son said “mom, you never make anything good like this” after treats were brought to our house by someone else.

My son also shamed me last night when I left a church activity quickly to see a movie with some friends. He said, “Mommy, I don’t think it’s very appropriate for you to leave a church activity.” (actually, I’m not really “happy to report” this. I just thought it was cute)

I found 2 new baby dolls for Reagan at Goodwill… a boy and a girl, both anatomically correct (they’re weird yet awesome at the same time)

I didn’t go to bed until 2:30am last night (morning) and I was able to make it to church by 9, not bad!

and, I took a nap this afternoon.

That, friends, is my ‘happy’ update. It was a good week, I think.

You have been BUSY! What movie did you see? Brandon and I were gonna head to the theater, but nothing looked good...typical. And, your glider looks AMAZING! Are you still thinking about painting it? I NEED to see those beds you bought for your boys! And NO MORE 50% off days at Thrift City?! That is unbelievably LAME! (although, I'm sure Shawn is thanking his lucky stars...I found a furniture consignment store in downtown Modesto...Brandon isn't so lucky.) ;)

Love the chair. Can't wait to rock in it. I would not paint it. The wood is in good shape, isn't it? On to the boys' bedroom, now? Rainy days will undoubtedly spur further projects!! What would you do with a large home???
