The kids have been taking swim lessons over the past 3 months.
Today was their last lesson. EVER!
Mostly because I am sick and tired of sitting at the swimming pool for 2 hours twice a week.... yes, 2 HOURS!
For some reason it was impossible for me to arrange the kids' lessons within a reasonable time-span.
Instead, we have them spread out, over 2 hours. I am not going to drive home for 5 minutes, just to drive back.... So, we sit in what feels like the Tropical Rainforest of a room and try to keep ourselves entertained.
Okay, I promise, the purpose of this post wasn't to complain about being there. Although I did have to mention the time sacrifice it has required.
Lets just say, Tuesdays and Thursdays are NOT my favorite days.
But they are the kids' FAVORITE!
Here's some pictures of Grant swimming. He can "make it across the pool in 5 breaths", which he states very proudly.
But, by far, his favorite part of swimming lessons is the 5 minutes of free play at the end. He LIVES for this. A couple days they ran out of time at the end and weren't able to do free play. This crushed him... literally!
Here he is, freezing!
I'm too lazy to get off my chair (the one my bum is plastered to for 2 hours) to meet my children with a towel as they get out of the pool, (like the other moms do), so my poor poor children have to walk 10 feet to me to get their towels. Oh, and we don't shower there either, I make them go home sopping wet and shower at home. I'm sure the other mom's think I'm cruel.... no, just lazy.
This is what Jefferson typically looks like during his swim lessons. Yes, he is about to drown. He's aware of this and keeps me updated after his lessons on how many times he "almost drowned." He definitely inherited his swimming skills from me!
He's improved a lot though, trust me!
And he LOVES being in the water!
Speaking of loving the water.... Reagan is OBSESSED!
She spent the first session of swimming lessons just watching her brothers. She wanted to swim so badly and would even wear her swim suit every time... it was sort of heartbreaking. So, I enrolled her.
I don't know if it's because she's a girl, or because she's my youngest, but I think her taking swimming lessons is THE CUTEST thing I have ever seen in my entire life!!
She has a huge smile plastered on her face for 30 minutes. She loves it. She talks about her teacher, Charlie, like they're best friends.
Anyways, it's cute.
Playing in the water
Ready to jump in
And here's a video of Reagan swimming. This is for my mom, who has been dying to see her.
Oh, if only we lived closer, you could have come and watched her yourself.... and chatted with me for the 2 hours so I didn't die of boredom. We sure miss you!

Once again, Cubby began barking as a result of hearing me laugh hysterically at the pic of Jefferson "almost drowning". That one especially cracked me up. You're right, though, about Reagan's exuberant smile really holding your attention. Prepare to possibly spend lots more time with your butt glued to the bleachers at future swim meets!!
Haha! That was hilarious. I, too, thoroughly enjoyed Jefferson drowning picture. It just tickles me. Haha! Love it.
Oh my! I LOVE this post. Brandon and I were both laughing out loud over Jefferson...and it's not just you...Reagan is ADORABLE in the pool. I LOVE how as the end of her turn approached, her kicks got really big. So cute.
