This last weekend was a small family reunion of sorts. My mom's brother and his family came up and spent the day with us at Sly Park Lake. My Aunt Bobbi couldn't make it, and we really missed her. It was such a beautiful day.
Here's my little family crammed into the raft. Are you getting sick of seeing pictures of the raft yet? We rowed over to an island and played Swiss Family Robinson.
Shawn, enjoying himself. The water looks ugly brown and disgusting in this picture, but it really is a beautiful lake.

After swimming near our picnic bench all morning, we decided we needed more of an adventure. So, we loaded up and drove to some rocks overlooking the water to do some jumping. Isn't that a pretty view?
I just about had a heart attack when I saw how high the guys wanted to jump from. And this sign didn't help much either.
After quite a bit of coaxing, they agreed to jump from a lower point. Here I am looking down on them.
We had some fun seeing who could do the best jump. Nick's back flips took the cake! I cheated and jumped from an even lower rock. I just didn't have the guts in me to jump higher. And my jump is lame because, well, I was too busy holding my nose and praying not to hit a jagged rock.
Jefferson was fearless and jumped right in, over and over again.![]()

Here is Ian's attempt to jump in with Jefferson.
This beautiful lady is my Great Aunt Nina. She is my Grandfather's sister. I never met my him, and I can't remember the last time I saw her. She and her daughter, Ann, just happened to be vacationing nearby and stopped to see us. What a coincidence. It felt good to visit with her.
The day seemed to by too quickly. I'm sure we could have all stayed and played through the night. But, life must go on. I'm so glad that we had this chance to all get together. My kids don't see much of their family, so it warms my heart to see them bond... and it doesn't seem to take very long. They were attached to these guys right away.
