Happy Mother's Day

I've been thinking about mothers today... it's no wonder why. This special day was made for them!

I feel blessed to have been raised by one of the best!

Isn't she beautiful?

This woman is an amazing. She taught me how to live, to love, and to be the woman I am today. She has taught me everything I know, from the simple things like how to cook, to clean, and to make a beautiful home.... to more complex things like good manners, and how to treat other people kindly.... to the most important qualities like patience, endurance, self-sacrifice, and virtue. I could go on and on.

Wow, I'm making myself sound really great. In reality, I haven't mastered these things yet (especially the clean house). But my mother has been, and always will be, my greatest example of these things. I hope to be more like her someday. Shawn makes fun of me sometimes and says, "you sound just like your mom," and I smile in delight.

And I know she is the woman she is today because of her mother, my sweet grandma. And everything my grandma learned was from her mother, my Nonie.

These woman are my legacy.

The mothers in our lives teach us how to mother others, and what a responsibility that is!!

If I could only teach them a piece of what my mom has shown me, they would be truly blessed! 

They are also blessed to have a father who was also raised by an incredible mother. Happy Mother's Day to my mother-in-law.

My day was made complete by a plateful of king crab legs. Thank you Shawn!! The kids made me adorable cards and treated me like a queen. If only every day were this sublime.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful women who have children of your own, or touch the lives of children. You are all AMAZING and well deserving of a day just for you!
