My childhood was a fairy tale
Every memory I have is sublime!
I grew up in the most ideal place for a kid.
I spent every day outside, climbing trees, riding bikes, making forts, and playing in the dirt. Every memory is one of being outdoors with friends. I had no boundaries and would wander everywhere. I would even walk to Sly Park Lake and go swimming when it was hot. I never got lost or felt afraid…. because everyone knew each other. My mom had a huge horn she would honk when it was time for dinner. I could hear that thing almost a mile away, and I would head home.

Look... I climbed those trees |
We moved after 8th grade… not too far, just 45 minutes away, but I was definitely NOT in the mountains, and things are just different in a city. After that, my memories aren’t so divine.

My dream home! |
I went to visit my old friend, Melissa, in Pollock Pines today, and I stopped by my old house (like I always do when I’m up there). I used to visit the neighbors, but now they’re all different, so I just drive by. I’ll pull into the drive way and pause, then I’ll back up… like I’m lost and just turning around…. But really, I’m just getting a good look at my favorite place on earth (yes, I’m really obsessed).Today I drove by and my heart skipped a beat.
It’s for sale!!
I pulled the flyer.
Because, of course, I’m going to start saving to buy it back!
It’s $203,000
I’m not kidding here, folks. My heart lives in that house. My parents bought it new, so really I have some claim to it, right? It was ours first. And it’s my childhood we’re talking about.
And just think of the fun my kids would have living there...
It would be a fairy tale

I LOVE fairy tales! go for it!
Oh my goodness, buy it! If my parents' house was for sale, I'd buy it in an instant. I feel the exact same way you do about your house. I get so homesick sometimes for that place.
That would be AWESOME!!! I think it's meant to be. Seriously.
Man that house brings back memories to me too....
